The second annual Kips Bay Dallas Show House featured an 11,000-square-foot Georgian home in the Preston Hollow neighborhood. As one of 26 designers for the show house, Pulp Design Studios was thrilled to be assigned a large space for Kips Bay that spanned a good portion of the house. Something Pulp co-founders Carolina Gentry and Beth Dotolo keyed on immediately was the balance of two large rooms at either end, which gave them the idea of duality as their theme. They designed their Wise & Wicked space as an homage to a modern woman, a paradox who is both wise about her business and also wickedly amusing in her off time. She’s graceful and glam, playful and polished – and this loft space reflects that duality of personal style. They concepted an office at one end and a “play space” or lounge at the other, connected by a hallway and bath. A creative idea of a hidden door came to them as they started to think of the lounge area as a speakeasy or a “sinner’s den.”
