Driven by a love of pattern, color and texture based on a traditional frame work with a modern twist, we reimagined what had been an uninspired primary bedroom and closet for this vacation getaway. The room had good bones with 6 foot windows and 10 foot ceilings but the prior owner had awkwardly positioned the furnishings, maintained popcorn ceilings and wood floors that had known a better life. We added new flooring, wallpaper to highlight heritage fabric we used to cover the headboard on the bed. The green table was designed and made by us. We also used a fantastical centerpiece Chandelier from Hudson Valley Lighting that spanned 5 feet in width and we fell in love with FB Brinjal in a high gloss sheen that completely embraces the night when its time to retire for sleep. We used similarly fantastical wallpaper by The Vale London as a backdrop behind the bed to complement the fabric that put the entire room in motion - the Legend of Queen Idia. Deep maroon, brown, blush pale pinks, chartreuse-y yellows and a fresh pop of kelly green all came together to create a magical experience.
