Swain's Neck
A comprehensive renovation transformed this astounding 10,000 square-foot home on Nantucket into a young family’s private destination for entertaining friends and reconnecting with relatives--one grounded in showstopping landscapes, relaxed chic vibes, and multi-functional design.
The project’s palette was consciously limited to linen, white oak, black marble, taupe, metal, and leather, with the same materials threaded throughout the home. This continuity allows the eye to travel throughout the property in a serene state, focused on the magnificent Atlantic views outside as much as the moody, cocoon-like environment inside.
Comfort was prioritized first. For example, the double-sided sofas were designed for enjoying movie night with the kids while never losing the ability to sit and capture Nantucket’s famous sunsets. Yet there are also sophisticated artistic moments introduced in each room—whether it’s the daring local photography, custom Lindsey Adelman chandeliers, or plexiglass occasional chairs.
Each room is designed to shift purpose and vibe depending on the time of day, like the breakfast bar which comes alive at dusk as a sleek cocktail bar thanks to bespoke cabinetry and lighting. There are multiple zones within each space to accommodate large, spirited gatherings as much as drizzly afternoons spent daydreaming on a chaise.
