Hill Section Mediterannean

This was a previously dated Mediterranean style home, like so many found in southern California, complete with double height ceilings, sunken rooms, and stacked stone fireplaces. Rather than strip away all historical evidence of the home, and leave behind a clean white box, we believe there is beauty in history (even from the 90s!), and that the best outcome occurs when the original architecture is honored, not eliminated. The key to this renovation was deciding what to keep and what needed to go.
With a new vision, some of the home's old world characteristics went from dated to timeless. By simplifying and streamlining, and a lot of paint, we were able to preserve the original style of the home while bringing it into the present day. Furnishings, art and lighting are a mix of old, new, and vintage, and complement the home's style, while also reflecting the taste and personalities of the homeowners.
