The Red Room by The Lewis Design Group
Antique chairs, upholstered in red velvet, found on a shopping trip to Paris inspired the “more is more décor” for this show-stopping “Red Room.” Barbara Lewis layered in pattern, dialing up the color with red high gloss walls in “Million Dollar Red” by Benjamin Moore. The colorful library feels collected and cozy yet chic, with an inviting tufted back sofa, set off by a bold floral print by Cowtan & Tout in the window treatments that is carried through into throw pillows, to create a stunning vignette that is framed by two antique chinoiserie tables found in Paris. A leopard print rug from Stark holds its own against the dramatic wall and ceilings, while a reclaimed antique mantel grounds the room with its sense of history, yet feels fresh coated in the dramatic red paint and paired with a striking Calder print. This library is lovingly called the “Red Room” and is the showstopper space in this beautifully renovated 19th century home.
