Sunny Mission Sanctuary
This sunny, view oriented home in San Francisco's Historic Mission District, was completely revamped into an urban oasis with eclectic flare. A previously overgrown and ungraded hillside was terraced to create new zones of program for play, relaxing by the pool, curling up with a book, lunchtime picnics, and lounging fireside. The new pool is lined with a graphic tile and outfitted for additional recreation with endless swim jets. All packed into a compact urban lot.
An outdated wood deck was replaced with sustainable bamboo decking, surrounded by custom laser cut steel railings. The space below the deck is naturally wind protected and now heated for year-round enjoyment; complete with outdoor foosball table and swing chair. Tropical and tough plantings create sculptural forms and textures in the landscape that play counterpoint to the fun and unexpected furnishings and tile finishes by Lotus Bleu Design.
The vibrant international family who calls this Mission garden their home, can now step out of their back door and into a bright and lively oasis of fun, respite, and relaxation.
