Alisha Taylor Interiors
This darling light and bright farmhouse kitchen was designed for a fun young family excited to move into their first custom home. The design was kept clean and simple to help balance the chaos of young children and family life. Glossy painted cabinetry, a white cast iron Kohler apron front sink, and durable quartz countertops are all easy to wipe clean and all lend to the fresh farmhouse style.
The layers incorporated into this kitchen add a sense of style and appeal starting with the smooth wood ceiling beams and horizontal nickel-gap wall treatment. The sconces and shaped quartz backsplash on the hood wall add to the layers and contribute a sense of contrast to the design. This kitchen design is then balanced both texturally and vertically with the addition of the rift-cut oak cabinets that sit on top of the counter flanking the paneled hood. The tiniest of details add to the design as seen in the black mullions in the small upper glass cabinets and the dark quartz and wood frame around the kitchen window that uses these materials in an unexpected way. The successful balance of darks and lights plays together throughout this stunning kitchen design.
