This striking Chappaqua, NY Entry Hall sets the tone for a young, international family home imbued with worldly elegance and craftsmanship, rooted in a love of travel. A luxurious herringbone wood floor grounds the richly detailed decorative elements including a large Middle-Eastern glass lantern, a pair of antique inlaid Syrian chairs flanking a stone table, a custom hand-knotted runner, and lush damask portiere curtains to the rooms beyond.
A grand-scaled, embossed paneled mural depicting elephants overlooks the space, connecting the lower level to the upper tiers where textural ceramic vessels flank a custom window cornice with an inset antique French floral embroidery panel sourced in Paris.
The upper hallway features a triptych of framed gilded textile art panels with a Persian floral motif, punctuated by bronze torchiere sconces. A luxurious Wilton wool runner lines the stairs and hallway and the soft green wall color sets the perfect tone for this rich, yet calming environment.
A faceted bone mirror hung over a travertine and bronze console and textural floral art by Erik Gonzales accent the lower-level walls, along with teal lattice portiere tiebacks providing intimate details within the over-scaled space for an overall cohesive elegance, making a truly sophisticated entrance statement.
