The Poetry of Restraint
This bathroom was designed as a quiet retreat—an escape that echoes the clients’ love of travel and the soulful textures they gravitate toward abroad. Rather than overworking the space, we focused on presence: light, color, and the elevated mood that comes through thoughtful restraint. Opening the shower into a serene, doorless alcove created a gentle, corridor-like rhythm reminiscent of the patinated hallways found throughout Europe.
Color sets the tone. Amber zellige tiles radiate a warm, handcrafted glow, their shifting surfaces catching light in a way that feels alive. Smoky cardamom ceramics and the dramatic veining of a violet Calacatta marble sink create a soft tension—an interplay of calm geometry and expressive stone that mirrors the balance of discipline and emotion at the heart of our work.
In a nearby niche, a custom walnut linen cabinet framed by plastered walls brings both character and texture, acting as storage and a crafted focal point.
The result is a deeply felt environment: immersive, transportive, and shaped by the belief that restraint—when paired with rich materiality—can create its own kind of poetry.
