Modern Classic Makeover

In this fully renovated Chicago historic building, we transformed what was once three small rooms into a spacious, modern kitchen—an incredible luxury in the city and suited for a large family. The new design honors the building’s history while embracing a fresh palette led by one of 2025’s standout colors: a custom green we created exclusively for this project.

Custom cabinetry and soffits set the architectural foundation, while the striking island—with its uniquely crafted legs in a complementary dark finish—anchors the room with personality. A custom wood hood adds warmth, illuminated by Cyan lighting fixtures that highlight the Taj Mahal quartzite used for both the work surfaces and backsplash. We accented the color palette with classic Kohler fixtures.

Luxurious appliances elevate the kitchen to true gourmet status, and thoughtful additions like a custom china cabinet blend functionality with style. The modern fireplace, wrapped in porcelain trim, brings comfort and cohesion to the open layout. Custom white oak flooring, with its own special formula, ties the details together into a space that is inviting and distinctly modern.

Craftsmanship and premium materials from USA Custom Cabinets (Bensenville) and Old World Granite (Wheeling) complete this revitalized kitchen—a new chapter for a historic home.
