The clients desired highly personalized entry and entertaining space. Drawing inspiration from a small arrangement of wood and shells, Cyndi Hopkins Design devised a plan to incorporate elements of light, restructure existing cabinetry, and infuse the space with natural materials like wood, corals, clay, iron, and grasscloth.
Careful consideration was given to a color palette of earthy tones and muted hues and the texture of materials. A thoughtful lighting design was meticulously crafted and customized fixtures would cast dramatic shadows and accentuate key design elements.
Functional lower cabinets remained; statement hardware was added while the upper cabinet doors were removed. All were coated in a fresh muted hue. The ceiling was wrapped in an expansive modern floral grasscloth, while the backs of the cabinets were adorned in a shimmery variant to create a whimsical atmosphere reminiscent of a fairy tale woodland.
The bespoke blossom chandelier and crystal florets pendant echo the floral motif on the ceiling. A custom designed live-edge table, set upon an iron base, evokes a sylvan ambiance.
